B2 Marketing Communications is a brand building and strategic marketing services firm based in South Lake Tahoe owned by Becky Bell.

From concept development to the execution of strategic marketing plans, B2 Marketing Communications provides a full spectrum of marketing services for tourism destinations and businesses, event planners, product developers and entrepreneurs.

About Becky Bell

Becky Bell obtained her extensive marketing skills and experience at a variety of positions which began with media planning at Foote Cone and Belding Advertising in Santa Monica, California prior to her move to Lake Tahoe in 1989.  Becky’s career in tourism marketing commenced at the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority in 1991, followed by 16 years at Strategic Marketing Group (SMG) as the senior marketing strategist responsible for the development, management, and implementation of integrated marketing programs for several tourism related clients including Ski Lake Tahoe, Sierra Ski Marketing Council, Sonoma County, Carlsbad Convention & Visitors Bureau, California Association of Bed and Breakfast Inns, City of Atascardo, and Inyo County, to name a few.

Bell’s marketing expertise includes brand identity development, brand management, strategic market planning from conceptualization to execution, website development, print and online media planning/buying, advertising creative development, online marketing, copywriting, public relations, sponsorship procurement, sales, promotions, direct mail and research. Bell has also authored white papers about the value of authenticity marketing, ecotourism, and the conscious traveler.

Becky is proficient at formulating long-term marketing strategies to clearly differentiate a destination from the competition. An early pioneer of authenticity marketing and geotourism, Bell understands that the success of any sustainable marketing program is integrating the essence of the destination into a strong brand identity and series of leveraged marketing tactics that clearly resonate with the target audience.

Combining her knowledge of authenticity and geotourism marketing concepts with her own travel behavior, Bell launched a website in 2007 for the Lake Tahoe-Truckee region called Tahoe Arts and Mountain Culture – www.TahoeCulture.com.  The website creatively captures an important travel element missing from many destination websites and vacation planning resources – the local’s perspective. TahoeCulture.com is designed to give the destination life and distinction through the exposure of the local artists, individuals, businesses and events that define the unique mountain culture and embody Tahoe’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit.

Within a few years, Bell has built a legitimate and well-respected voice for the local community which has successfully attracted viewers from primary California feeder markets and out of state. In fact, Bell won the 2009 Entrepreneur Award presented by the South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority which recognizes a local individual who has made a significant contribution to the sustainability of the community.

Becky holds a B.A. in Advertising/Communications from Cal State Fullerton. When she’s not developing competitive marketing strategies or working on www.TahoeCulture.com, Becky can be found enjoying the outdoors on her mountain bike, sailboat, windsurfer or skis.
